The Gates are open to the public at 1.00pm and the Exhibition Hall opens at 2.00 pm after the judging has finished.
Admission is £1.50 for adults and 50p for children.
The show is held in two parts, the indoor competition section with over 600 entries and an outdoor section of attractions and amusements.
There are interesting sections with something for everyone. The classes try to reflect modern times and the photography section now expects mostly digital pictures. Small cash prizes are given to the winners and there are some trophies that you keep for a year. There are classes for fruit, vegetables and flowers and also art, craft and photography, home economics, floral art, Freakiest Vegetables. There are special sections for children and Senior Citizens and we have six classes for teenagers this year.
The outdoor section consists of sideshows, a grand raffle, tombolas, exhibitions, vintage cars and demonstrations, together with refreshments. The Parish Council will have a stall at the Four Colnes Show when councillors will be available to talk about any matters of interest or concern in the village. Also available will be free dog waste bags, extra copies of the Village Design Statement and information from the Heritage Museum including a new booklet on Earls Colne Street Names.
This year we have continued the Fun Family Dog Show** which has proved extremely popular. There are amusements and donkey rides for the children. The Colchester Band and “Bella” the Keyless Dean Organ will play for your entertainment while all this is going on.

**Classes for prettiest pup, shaggy dog and owner, best child handler, oldest dog, dog/owner look-alike, most lovable waggy tail, best sitter and ‘Heinz’ variety. £1.50 to enter. Prizes for all classes.
